HELP & FAQ’S

The event will take place at Charlotte Convention Center located at 501 S College St, Charlotte, NC 28202.

Registration will be located on the concourse level inside the entrance on East Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. 

Those who are registered for Facility Tours should plan to meet at the Charlotte Convention Center on Monday, September 18 at 1 pm.

Please proceed to Concourse C near the East Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and look for HFSE staff in blue polos. 

You will be checked in by HFSE staff and directed to the bus which will take you to the tour.  Buses will drop you back at the Charlotte Convention Center no later than 5 pm. 

You can use the My Agenda feature to help you better organize your day and select which sessions you plan to attend. Just click the blue “Add to agenda” button under any session to move it into your personalized agenda.  To view your agenda, simply click on the My Agenda filter at the top of the session page.  

Back by popular demand: the Scavenger Hunt will challenge you to search out various exhibitors,
products, fellow attendees and other fun things during your experience at HFSE. Once you
complete every challenge, you’ll be entered in the drawing where one winner will earn $1000.
To play, launch the Mobile site, then select Scavenger Hunt from the navigation menu.

Complete each challenge under the Scavenger Hunt. To be entered in the giveaway, you must complete
all of the challenges listed by 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. The winner will be
announced in Design Solutions Theater Two at 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

The Charlotte Convention Center offers complimentary WIFI in the public areas. 

HFSE provides breakfasts and lunches for conference attendees and speakers. 

All attendees are welcome to join on the exhibit floor for the Symposium Party on Tuesday from 4 pm to 6 pm for light appetizers and drinks. In addition, the ice cream social on Wednesday from 2 pm to 3 pm is open to everyone. 

The Happy Hour on Wednesday from 6 pm to 7:30 pm at the  McColl Center located at 721 N Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28202 and is open to all. Light appetizers and drinks will be served. 

The Charlotte Convention Center has a food court with the following establishments:

Bojangles’ – 7:30 – 2:30 p.m.; Monday, Wednesday, and Friday*
Buon Cibo – 11:00 – 2:00 p.m.; Open per event basis
Einstein – 7:30 – 1:00 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday*
Starbucks – 7:00 – 2:00 p.m.; Monday – Friday

Earn Continuing Education Units from these HFSE Partners at the 2023 Event.

Interior Designers:
IDCEC recognizes the Healthcare Facilities Symposium & Expo sessions as qualifying for
continuing education credits. Each hour of educational content is equal to 0.1 CEU. For credit: obtain the IDCEC form at the Information Desk/
Registration. Have your session(s) stamped by a room monitor as you leave each session and mail it to the address specified on the form.

Architects:
The Symposium is an AIA Registered Provider.
Attendees may earn 1 Learning Unit per educational hour. For credit, obtain a CEU form at the Information Desk onsite at the event. Keep track
of the sessions you attend and turn in your form at the information desk at the end of the show.

EDAC:
EDAC Certified Individuals, obtain a CEU form at the Registration Desk onsite at the event. Keep track of the sessions you attend. You will need to retain the form for your records. You will need it to report courses through Scantron when you are due for renewal.

Many sessions of the 2023 program will qualify for Health, Safety and Welfare (HSW). That means that you can get all 8 of your HSW credits for the year at the Healthcare Facilities Symposium & Expo! Attendees may earn 15.75 continuing education units
by attending one conference session in every time bank offered plus a facility tour.

Presentations are available under each session on the mobile site.  You will need to be logged in to view them.

We will continue to update the presentations until Monday, September 25 so please check back if you don’t see the latest version. 

Session Evaluations are available after you have attended each session and they can be found in the Evaluation tab within each session.

An Overall Evaluation is available under Event Survey. 

Exhibitor Scanning: By having an exhibitor or sponsor scan your badge at an event, you are opting in to share your full contact and demographic information with that exhibitor. Your contact information would then fall under that exhibitor or sponsor’s privacy policy which you may request from them.

iPad or iPhone

1. Launch Safari app. *Please note that this does not work from the “Chrome” app.
2. Enter into the address field the URL of the website you want to create a shortcut to. Tap Go.
3. Tap the icon featuring a right-pointing arrow coming out of a box along the top of the Safari window to open a drop-down menu.
4. Tap Add to Home Screen. The “Add to Home” dialog box will appear, with the icon that will be used for this website on the left side of the dialog box.
5. Enter the name for the shortcut using the on-screen keyboard and tap Add. Safari will close automatically and you will be taken to where the icon is located on your iPad’s desktop.

Android

1. Launch the Chrome app. *Please note that this does not work from the device’s native web browser app.
2. Open the website or web page you want to pin to your home screen.
3. Tap the menu icon (3 dots in upper right-hand corner) and tap Add to Home Screen.
4. You’ll be able to enter a name for the shortcut and then Chrome will add it to your home screen.

The 2024 Healthcare Facilities Symposium & Expo will take place September 24-26, 2024 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas.
